GREENWARE pieces are unfired clay just out of the mold. Before painting, these pieces have to be cleaned and have their seams filed. Because the greenware has not been fired, it is more fragile than the bisque pieces. There are paints available for greenware that are not for use on bisque, giving you many additional options!

The pieces vary in price from $1 to $20, with most pieces averaging around $7. We have many children's items under $5, as well as various other frames, mugs, and plates under$10.

Sitting fee: $5 for adults, $2.50 for children under 18.

The sitting fee includes limited use of underglazes, undercoats, andacrylics. Glazes must be purchased and range in price from $3 - $5. If you don't already have your own brushes, the studio stocks brushes foryour use, and we also have some available for purchase.

Once your masterpiece is painted with underglaze, it will need to be fired once, glazed, and then fired a second time. If you choose to clean the greenware and then fire it to bisque, once painted you can either spray finish or fire the piece. Sprays are available for purchase in either matte or gloss finish (One can costs $5.95 and covers several pieces). Firing the piece costs 1/2 of the price of the piece in greenware.
